Sara Gruen

American/Canadian author of adult novels. Born in Canada, she now lives in America and has dual citizenship. She tried her hand at writing when she lost her job and her first book Flying Changes, an adult horse story, was an immediate bestseller. Since then she has written a sequel plus two non-horsy books. All her books are about the relationship between people and animals. One of her non-pony books, Water for Elephants, was also adapted for film.

Sara is an avid animal lover who is interested in animal rights and the interaction between animals and humans. Some of the proceeds of her books go to animal charities.
